When the average person thinks of a situation of public speaking, the immediate feeling that this is fear. Fear of public speaking is universal. For some people it will be at the sub-conscious and others will be evident. Yet, the word is something that everyone enjoys. In fact, talking with others is one of the psychological needs of man. Yet people have this irrational fear. Why do we fearand what can we do to get out of this?
The fears may be of different types. One category of fear is fear of the unknown. If you offered your dream job with a good salary, you will be happy. But if you did your job, a city unknown to you, your enthusiasm evaporates immediately. People are afraid of unfamiliar places, people who do not know, familiar and unknown experiences. The fear of public speaking comes fromnatural human tendency to fear unknown.
Do not you travel often? Remember your experiences. As you are comfortable with a person sitting beside you in a train or a plane? Initially there is a suspicion about the person. Will he or she is a friendly person? Are you afraid of him even if you could not do any harm if it is not a terrorist, but only a remote possibility. (However, this fear even in those days that terrorism had notlifted his head.) But after a while ', once you get to exchange a few words, you become more comfortable with him and the fear disappears.
The above example helps us understand the origin of the fear of speaking in public. More importantly, it gives us an idea to overcome this fear. We understand that it is natural for you to be afraid of public speaking. After all afraid the unknown is a natural characteristic of man. But howWe drive this fear? We are liberated from our concerns for our next train at the next meeting to make us acquainted with them. The unknown person is a friendly neighbor in no time. You can use the same strategy with public speaking.
