Professionals and volunteers who listen to stories of fear, pain and suffering of others can experience compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue is also thought of as Secondary Post Traumatic Stress. People working in hospital and patient care, social services and court systems are at great risk of having compassion fatigue affect their lives.
